VP / Team Leader / Commercial Loans (C&I)

GENERAL FUNCTION:     Originates and services a variety of secured and unsecured business loans and lines of credit. Insures applicable bank lending policies and practices are followed. Oversees account administration, credit extension, and business development functions. Operates under defined credit authority as determined by the Republic Bank Credit Policy. Focus is commercial and industrial.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Originates, underwrites, and close commercial loans.
  2. Lead a team of lenders to focus on the moderate to smaller end of the Commercial and Industrial Market.
  3. Train and develop team; identify and grow C&I business relationships.
  4. Negotiate terms, structure loan financing based on risk considerations and present credits for approval to appropriate levels of authority with the bank as required.
  5. Develops new commercial banking relationships.
  6. Manage an existing portfolio of commercial customers.
  7. Identify Cash Management opportunities with new and existing commercial customers.
  8. Cross-sell bank products to commercial client ownership and management.
  9. Review commercial banking relationships for changes in credit risk levels.
  10. Daily review, approval and disposition of commercial overdrafts.
  11. Maximize bank profitability through appropriate pricing of new loan originations, fee income, and selling of all bank products and services.
  12. Support the bank's strong relationship banking culture through on-going customer contact, quality customer service, and superior product knowledge.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Knowledge of cash flow, tax return analysis and commercial loan documentation
  • Team player
  • Strong business development skills

EDUCATION:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Finance or business
  • Minimum 5 years lending experience
  • Formal credit training

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Commercial Lending Team (C&I)

EXPECTATIONS:

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Normal office environment with little exposure to dust, noise, temperature and the like.
  • Requires manual dexterity sufficient enough to operate offices machines such as computers, fax machines, calculators, telephones, and other office equipment.

  • Moderate lifting up to 50 pounds.

(AVP or VP) / Market Manager

GENERAL FUNCTION:     Responsible for promoting growth within a specific geographic area. Actively develops retail and commercial business that includes retail and commercial products to businesses and consumers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Makes business development calls on both current and prospective retail and commercial opportunities. Outside calling activities account for the majority of the work week.
  • Meets with prospects and customers to discuss business needs and recommends ways in which the bank can meet those needs by executing diagnostic skills.
  • Manages a portfolio with a concentration in commercial clients. Monitors current needs as well as future potential of these accounts, including cash management products and services with a goal of increasing product penetration from approximately 2 products per relationship to 4.
  • Participates in sales meetings with the banking center staff to assist in the sales process, gage performance against goals, answer questions, exchange information, and resolve problems.
  • Creates and leads sales and promotional efforts within their markets to achieve performance goals. Develop tactical plans and implement marketing activities to gain the highest possible exposure and desired results. Actively participate in all bank promotional events and product/service initiatives in order to support bank sales and service goals working in concert with the Banking Center Managers.
  • Utilize management and sales management skills to promote sales culture and accountability by setting a high standard of sales and service.
  • Promote the bank in the community by making outside calls and maintaining an active visible role in appropriate organizations. Participate in civic activities to promote growth and development in the community and a positive image for the bank.
  • Maintain a well-developed working knowledge of the complete line of products and services offered including product advantages and responsible for contributing to the product enhancement process. Responsible for own professional development needs and the completion of certain required training programs and to request specific training as they recognize the need.

EXPECTATIONS:

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Extensive contact with the public, necessitating the ability to present a professional image in dress, speech and actions.
  • In-depth knowledge of retail and commercial products and bank policies and procedures in order to perform duties with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to take initiative and utilize sound judgment in decision-making and higher-level problem solving and to represent the bank professionally at all times.
  • Ability to work in a team environment or individually with the ability to interact well, and in a positive manner, with subordinates peers, management or independently.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • 4-year college degree or equivalent experience to include a minimum of 4-years banking experience or business development experience.
  • Supervisory experience helpful, but not required.

VP / Money Services Business Credit

GENERAL FUNCTION:     Collect customer information specifically as it relates to credit decisions. Provide underwriting to Money Service Business customers while ensuring existing policies and guidelines are adhered to. Ensure that a sound loan portfolio is maintained. Works with MSB Manager and compliance staff to ensure that the MSB Division is in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, RBC and MSB policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. One of the first points of contact to promote Republic Bank's MSB Division.
    1. Promotion of MSB Division and its products, services, and personnel.
      1. Referrals to other Republic Bank divisions
      2. Attendance at industry trade shows
    2. Point of contact to initiate a relationship between a potential customer and Republic Bank.
    3. Collects customer information specifically as it concerns credit decisions. Credit decisions also pertain to operating accounts.
    4. Presents decisions to MSB Manager as it concerns operating accounts as well as credit facilities. Presentations shall be made to the loan committee meetings as appropriate.
  2. Maintains and monitors the MSB Division loan portfolio.
    1. Assists MSB Manager in maintaining the loan portfolio, which includes overall risk and yield. Presentation of credit reports to MSB Manager.
    2. Works in conjunction with CSR's and MSB Manager in determining the quality of individual relationships and identifying any problems, which may include customer operations, compliance, or credit.
    3. Preparation of credit presentations.
  3. Maintains and monitors the MSB Division Operating Account portfolio from a credit risk perspective by working with Operations Supervisor to determine risk and yield returns on operating account relationships. This is often inter-related with traditional credit facilities as in above.
  4. Assists MSB Manager in monitoring MSB client activity including analysis of reports, proposing improvement where needed, and increasing his/her knowledge base concerning BSA and AML regulations.
  5. Responsible for training and supervising employees that directly report to VP/MSB Credit, if applicable.
  6. Responsible for approvals, credit decisions, and general operations in the MSB Manager's absence.
  7. Assist MSB Manager with new product development, especially as it concerns credit.
  8. Preparation and maintenance of industry macro studies.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • College degree required.
  • A high degree of commercial lending experience (5+ years) and ability to manage large ($100MM+ / year) commercial relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Basic office computer skills.
  • Experience within the MSB industry is preferred.

Marketing Coordinator

GENERAL FUNCTION:     Provides a full range of services for the Marketing Department and will work closely with IT and Compliance to ensure objectives and activities are in line with the Bank's goals. Assists in campaign planning, coordination, and implementation. Collects necessary research and data. Measures and reports results of events and initiatives. Manages the social media presence of the Bank by creating and delivering social campaigns. Serves as the Bank's webmaster by maintaining current information on the intranet and website.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Marketing:
  • Collects market research information, to include competitive analysis, demographics, product and service usages, promotions and pricing information, customer satisfaction, etc.
  • Assists in data acquisition for market and planning purposes using internal sources and external sources
  • Prepares various reports using the customer profile database
  • Assist in overall campaign planning, coordination, and implementation
  • Assists with promotional materials to support departmental, banking center, and organizational goals
  • Assists with creating and proofreading flyers, forms, brochures, newsletters and lobby displays
  • Assists with branch appearance, supply ordering and mailings
  • Write and arrange publicity for branch promotions, employee announcements, and special events, including photography assignments. Work closely with external PR firm
  • Coordinate and maintain the bank's directory of branch-level sponsorships and advertising; serves as a contact for ad requests from managers
  • Maintains budgets, schedules and tracking for all campaigns and promotional materials for departmental reports. Coordinates with Director of Marketing on budget control
  • Maintains inventory of promotional items, including selecting and ordering items within given budget
  • Assists with various events such as chamber functions, outdoor festivals and shred days
  • Post bank-wide activities on bank's intranet (IQ) and website. Promotes events to bank staff
  • Provides administrative support for the Director of Marketing and for special projects as needed
Social Media:
  • Manage a comprehensive social media tactical plan to move the Bank's existing social media presence to the desired community participation levels
  • Manage presence on social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn and other community sites
  • Introduce new ways to communicate using social media
  • Monitor customer social media involvement against pre-defined goals for activity levels
  • Monitor customer feedback through social media and respond appropriately, including forwarding unique questions for other employees to review and draft a response
  • Manage a schedule of ongoing marketing campaigns, promotions, and interactive events across social media communities and integrate them throughout the Bank
  • Own the budget for social media tools, campaigns, and vendor support
  • Identify customer insights which could be acted upon throughout the Bank and report these recommendations to management team
  • Work with HR and Training Manager to train employees across the bank on the ongoing social media efforts as well as best practices for each user to follow in order to support the Bank's goals
  • Review employee posts, ensuring compliance with the Bank's user acceptable use policy
  • Monitor peer competitor social media presences
  • Evaluate new social media trends and tools to identify those that should be used by the Bank
  • Perform other duties as assigned
IT:
  • Regularly updates and refreshes bank's intranet (IQ) and website to keep relevant information accurate and current. Serves as bank's webmaster.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Minimum of 5 years banking and sales training experience
  • Broad knowledge of training techniques, methods, materials and programs
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to interact with all levels of management and staff
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to effectively manage time
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Position requires knowledge of Retail and Commercial products, bank policies and procedures, and operational practices
  • Ability to function independently and multi-task in work environment; flexibility is required

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum two years Marketing, Public Relations, or related experience and/or training; or equivalent education.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of bank products and services and the marketing function within the bank.
